Brief

Design and deliver an integrated crowd management and transport operation within a busy city centre that included two competition venues, two live sites, three train stations, a major shopping centre and two shuttle bus load zones.

Deliverables

• Lead the integration of safe transport and crowd movement plans within Birmingham City Centre for the Commonwealth Games.

• Conducted a city centre crowd safety risk analysis which identified the need for a crowd management plan. 

• Ensured safe and integrated transport and crowd movement plans within competition venues, transport hubs, shuttle bus services, Local Area Traffic Management and Parking, reducing negative impact on the city operations, emergency services and background demand. 

• Designed and delivering Games time transport and crowd safety of key transport hub locations on ingress and egress.
