Ireland’s largest music and arts festival takes place annually in Stradbally, Co. Laois on the first weekend in September. Capacity has steadily risen from 48,000 in 2014 to circa 55,000 in 2016.

My role on the event was Arena Zone Manager for the main arena and late night arena for both 2014 and 2016. It’s a 5 day gig, working with the production team and site crew to ensure the site is set up and ready to go. Then on show days I help the production team make sure the site is clear and ready to open and then continue to metaphorically fire-fight anything that comes up throughout the day. I work closely with production, site crew, security, cleaning, emergency services, traders and contractors.

It’s always a fantastic event to work at, especially so when it doesn’t rain. It brings together many event professionals from around the country who are all dedicated to pulling of an amazing festival. This is one of my favourite events to work.
